Stress.
Lack of funding.
Too many options.
Not knowing where to start or what to say?
I've been there.
Trying to learn the language, figure out what the grant makers are looking for, research for supporting data, and organize it into a well-crafted response can be overwhelming. I muddled through this daunting process for years without support and guidance.
I DON’T want that to be you
I'll share 11 Pro Tips on grant writing.
I'll teach you the 2 major tactics for evaluating the grant before writing!
A lot of grant writers ignore the grant evaluation step. If you ignore these steps, you will waste a lot of time and effort on proposals that you have no chance of winning.
I'll also show you the most important part of a grant and some examples that will take your grant narrative to the next level.
Twenty-two years ago I started working with a small nonprofit that supported the community through community food banks, gift give-a-ways, emergency services, child care, after school programming, and much more. By far the most common thing I would be told on the job was “Wow, you wear so many hats!’” (translation, I have TOO many jobs/roles!)
One of the many roles I had was writing grants. When I was learning how to write grants, it was painful! I muddled through the process on my own, and sooner or later after writing hundreds of grants, I found my stride. The grants just started coming in.
Fast forward 14 years and I became a Senior Community Development Specialist for the City and County of San Francisco. At its peak, my role involved helping to design strategies, grant questions, and evaluation criteria for over 800 applicants, 300 recipients, and $80 Million dollars.
Trust me when I say “I understand what the grant maker is looking for.” My scope of impact grew beyond what I ever could have imagined.
